I'm so glad that Wait Until Dark made your list. It's one of my favs. And I love Hitchcock. Shyamalan is good too, most of the time. I love The Village.
I always felt a little bit jipped when we were in college together and you'd run home to be with jed to eat donuts and watch charlie brown's Halloween. I kinda wanted to be sandwiched in between you both!
Happy Halloween!
The simple fact that you put Wait Until Dark and Rear Window on your list makes me ecstatic! There are so many people out there that haven't even HEARD of these movies and they are such classics! Honestly....I love it! One of our family favorites is Frankenweenie! It's really hard to find, but I think they've added it to the special features on The Nightmare Before Christmas DVD. Thanks for spreading the scary movie love. You rock!
I think about four of the movies/cartoons you listed can be found on this super awesome DVD called "Mickeys house of Villians". It's a staple that we take out the 1st of October and watch all month long.

We also watch The Witches, Hocus Pocus, Clue and Bedknobs and Broomsticks - the last 2 aren't really Halloween-ish...oh well!
We also added this year:
The Purple People Eater
Casper
Halloween Town (all the movies) - my girls loved these.
p.s. It was nice running into you at Disenyland :)
My favorite scary movie is, The Changeling. Not the new one but the one from 1980 with George C. Scott. We watched it again recently with Paige and it is SCARY but not in an evil way. I hate all those devil movies like The Omen and The Exorcist. This movie is scary/suspenseful. George C. Scott is really great, the story is well written and the music is super spooky. Not for the kids! I hope some of you see it.
Thirding Hocus Pocus. Seriously it is not Halloween until you have seen Hocus Pocus at least once.
And Clue! That's a good one!
(We also swear that Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween movie, NOT a Christmas movie. Pray about it if you're not sure.)
the ring
i LOVE the donald duck one where the chair turns into the monster. SO SO good.
Three of my favorites are on your list. I can't believe you left off Icabod. What about the M Night Shama whatevers like the 6th Sense or The Village
My apologies. I see Legend of Sleepy Hollow on your list now. We always just call it Icabod... silly.
I really can't believe Young Frankenstein isn't on your list, or in the comments. Really, Jayne--it's a Halloween must.
P.S. I keep forgetting...Thank you for the peaches!

Hope this works: it's a scene from one of the Clark kids' favorite scary Halloween movies. Scary in lots of ways.
Shana,
That Worst Witch clip brought so many memories back! Wow--I can't even believe how terrible that is! But MAN I want to watch the whole thing right now!
I guess I"ll have to give Hocus Pocus and try and that Donald Duck one and Young Frankenstein--I can't believe I forgot that one either!
Thank you Shana!
Lance and I just really enjoyed that. I could still remember the words- Are you impressed?
Hocus Pocus is a MUST along with Ernest Scared Stupid.
Oh, and like Ali said, we just can't forget It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.
Rockin...
Blackbeard's Ghost.
Something Wicked This Way Comes.... so good!
