The Parley Party

The kid loves Chuck E. Cheese, so we ended up there again this year, with his 4 "closest in age" cousins and Bo.  Bo is Parley's best friend who lives down the street.  Bo was born the day before Parley and they must have been buddies in the hospital nursery.  Here are a few shots.  I imagine, if you've ever been to Chuck E. Cheese, you can fill in the smells and sounds as you look through the pictures.

Driving, his dream come true.  And he didn't even hit a tree this time.  Oh, didn't I tell you that story?

Parley in that Merry-Go-Round thing.  Remind me to tell you about the time I got stuck in one of those very things when I was 17 and at my little brother's birthday party.  And how it would only carry me up half way because I was too heavy.  And how my best friend kept putting in tokens just to make me mad.  And how a Chuck E. Cheese employee told me I was too big and should get out (an obvious point by then). And how my Dad had to pull a miracle maneuver to get me out.  Remind me to tell you...

Typical Parley

and in case you didn't get to see Jed's cake close enough:

Wow and wow.   And speaking of Mario, (what?) Parley got the old school Mario Bros. game and I still totally rule at it.  Extra guys on level 3!

Well, that about does it.

And now Parley is sick.  Classic strep symptoms.  I guess you can't have a birthday everyday!

So glad your Chuck E. Cheese spot is free of "incidents" like the ones down here in the south. I'm sure my kids would love to go to Chuck E. Cheese but I'm not in the mood to deal with police officers on the scene, and people chasing/punching people for taking too long in a photo booth or at a game. Yeah, our Chuck E. Cheeses are only for the most civilized of people.

"It's-a me....a-Mario!"

What an awesome party. What an awesome kid. What an awesome place to leave that huge knife, Jayne.

My son is having a mario birthday in January...how did you make the cake (are those mario and luigi candles?! gasp!)
I'm planning on making a "block" pinata for the "marios" to punch.

Hawsfam,
Jed baked the cake in two different bowls and (I guess) cut parts off to make the right shape. Then he just put one on top of the other and it seemed to balance by itself. And the mario and Luigi are actually not candles they're little guys, which he plays with now. I got mine from a classified ad (total luck) but I know they sell them on Ebay a lot, so check them out! Best of luck! I've got one in January also!

I was there when you got stuck and I don't think I've ever laughed harder. Classic times. Love it and you.

P.s. Was I the bESt friend who kept putting tokens in? Couldn't have been me since I am as sweet as a puppy but you've never had any other bEST friends. Right? Right???
