To All Nay-Sayers of Monday
"Monday is the first day of the week. It is a peacefull day, whare everything is quite. School starts erley on Monday. Then there is onley 4 days left of school at bedtime. And I am always sad when Monday gose past, but Tusday is anouther day, whare people get up erley, but not quite the same as good old Monday. I'll talk about Tusday later. Monday we have homework. Wich is not much fun, but, that's what Monday takes. Monday is a giving day, that always keeps it's promise. Just like when you lose a tooth or when you feel homesick, it's allways there for you. Today is Thursday and it is not as quiet as Monday, but fun. I am waiting for Monday as days go past, such as Thursday and it also is fun. We usuley mark off days on our calender. Tomorrow will be Friday. Yae! Last day of school! See you when the Monday sun comes up!" --Hazel
Really and truly. Didn't change a thing. Found it on the counter this morning.

Oh sweet Hazel! Yes, let's talk about Tuesdays later. For now we have Monday and it is wonderful.
That is the best tribute to Monday I have ever seen! You have one little amazing girl on your hands. :)
No way did Hazel make this up herself. Seriously. She is an amazing girl.
"...just like when you lose a tooth or feel homesick, it's always there for you" ???
Where does she come up with this stuff? Genius!
Sweet Hazel, will you come visit me in Florida? There is lots of exploring to do here and I think you would love it. I need to know you better because I love you! Love, Lindsey
That is so sweet! I'm going to keep this in mind the next time I'm giving Monday a hard time.
Oh and thank her for me. I totally need to go and play tooth fairy and forgot until I read this!
I really really like her.
Wow! What a little poet :) Her spelling really isn't half bad either. Having a second grader I pick up on such things :)
good things she writes in english for her parents :-)
what a profound little girl!
"good old monday"
she's a "good old girl"
That is the sweetest thing ever. Next time I dread Monday, I will remember that it is always there for me. So cute!
She is something else!
=)
Jayne, I love her. I wish she was my little girl. Is this what you were like when you were her age?
she gets that from my side of the family.
It's now Wednesday but I wish it were Monday.
You are amazing at writing. As you know, - am writing a book like your poem or short story. -it is nevr quiet in our house like it is in yours. To bad. My brother spilled oranje juice on my last letter so you won't have gotten a letter for quite a while. I repeat quite a while.
Brothers can be crazy you know. The main thing im trying to say is that your a great writer. To tell you the truth, I bet I could not write that good. You write beter then me. You are talented with those poems. See you later. Warner
Is Hazel publishing? Does she have her own blog? =)
