So what if I succumbed to the pressure of the blog? I have funny cousins, and they keep me entertained, so I decided to join them. I've always wanted to be like my cousins. Besides, they're rich. The think about blogs though, is I just hate the name blog. I think I'd like to call my blog a glob.

Back in 1997, I was pretty awesome. I was cool and most likely tan. Besides, I was graduating from high school. I was so awesome sitting in those UVSC bleachers waiting for my name to be called! You were most likely hot stuff when you graduated from high school also. Remember?

I started thinking over the last eight years since I was such hot stuff in a graduation gown (unfortunately, mine was a little short, which made being hot stuff a little more challenging) about high school graduation. Every spring as I have passed the marriott center late in May, I have gained insight about high school graduation. Truly, it isn't awesome.

I've decided rather than celebrate those who graduate from high school, we should shoot fireworks directly at those who didn't graduate from high school. Think about it. You probably didn't work especially hard to graduate. You probably went to class and did some work. That work probably wasn't that difficult. If you decided to take AP classes, you were either especially smart or really stupid, so that doesn't count as difficult either. So, really, everyone should just graduate. Nobody needs to hear a boring "this isn't the end, this is only the beginning of the rest of our lives" speech. And think of the time we could spare if only we didn't have to name every person that graduates! We could spend all of the time shooting fireworks while naming those that didn't graduate! What a celebration. Andrew Johnson----BOOM BOOM!!! Sarah Miller---BOOOM BOOM--Sorry Sarah, I was aiming at your knees! Laughter could take over those nerdy tears about leaving friends.

I'm the type of person who feels guily really easily. So now that I've written this glob, I am feeling guilty about hurting all of the 'Andrew Johnson's' feelings out there. I'm sorry Andrews, this is only a glob. I'm sure you have other qualities rather than being able to graduate. I KNOW you have a special spirt Andrew(s). You're probably really tan. That is sweet. I wish I was tan.

Welcome to the big glob world jayneintheneck!

It's been ten years since I graduated from high school and I am still working on that tan!

And yes...I am sure you were cool in 1997, just as cool as you are in 2005.

See that is the great thing about just being an average - well I don't want to say nobody but I guess a random somebody. See Jayne was voted most preferred- or maybe hottest bod- I cant remember. She definately had tan legs and about 45 guys chasing after them. It all about where you are coming from. You see Jayne- here I am living in UC Berkeley student housing- which we fondly refer to as Moscow. (No offense to people from Moscow.) I'm am slightly darker than an off white shade and and my daily work-out routine consists of pushing swings, playing horsy and pulling the wagon. I look back at my high school days as I climb 56 steps to get to my little cave of an apartment where my little family of four lives and I am thinking- man my life is turning out to be pretty darn sweet!

Also- congrats on the new baby boy!

Jayne,
you rock, loved the glob. Kind of reminds me of jobby...that is what we call poo at our house.

Jayne. I love this idea! Instead of encouraging winners (who have their own reward) we should just punish the losers. Instead of 'No Child Left Behind' you should propose 'No Child Left Burnt or Scarred.' That's fantastic.

Welcome to the blog world. Sorry about the name. I didn't make it up.

PS. Am I rich? Seriously?

no toph, you're not. Just in whit and good-looks. Jayne, I, too, dream of writing/illustrating children's books--we should collaborate!

Well, Chris, If it turns out you're not rich, I've wasted a lot of energy. Jed quit his job because we figured it was about time we cashed in from you. Man, maybe Court will come through!

I'm rich and tan. You guys just haven't seen me in a long time. It's true.

By the way, I deleted my last comment because I spelled something wrong. Oh yeah, I'm a school teacher too.
