After a Fight with Parley
I came home one evening to a couple of notes Hazel had written Parley after they had been arguing. Here is the first one:
Translation: (notice the P's decorating the corners)
Dear: Parley,
I'm sorry that I hurt your tooth. I write this on paper, because we'd keep doing talking and you would distract me. Give this to daddy so he can read it to you. Parley please don't get mad at me.
Love, Haze
I can imagine the scene so vividly: Hazel, so devastated by the fight, goes upstairs to make amends by writing this apology, while Parley, downstairs, has totally forgotten there was ever a fight and is now happily watching a movie.
Jed affirms my imaginary scene is correct; and that he did, in fact, read the note to a confused Parley.
2nd note tomorrow.

DANG, that's awesome.
Sweetest girl ever! I'm doing a "frown-smile" right now. So sweet.
That is the cutest thing ever!
Adorable!
You are doing a wonderful job with your children. My ten year old daughter and four year old son are frenemies right now. I am constantly reminding them that once Dad and I are long gone that they will always have each other. Kelly replies by telling me Jack still won't be allowed in her room when they're old.
Sigh
Oh and please relay to Jed how much I enjoyed his musings in your absence. Good good stuff!

Oh how we miss our playgroup friends! That Hazel will be such a good sister in law to Mila! See you on Friday for sure.
Jayne, remember Danny's note on his door that said, donocumin? (Do not come in). Shana, what was Serena's funny funny note?
Linds, I can just imagine your frown smile! I miss you tons!

PS Hazel's notes are wonderful. Her vocabulary is amazing.
These are priceless.

WOW! She's in kindergarten??? I teach first grade and some of my students are still working on learning the letter sounds and names!! Go, Hazel!!!
She is writing these notes to your little boy who is how old? Not even two, right? I love that. She is so articulate!
