The Internet, A Voyeur's Favorite Friend

Sorry I haven't posted lately. And I apologize because I know you've been desperately wondering what has been going on! I'm wondering the same about you! See, before the internet, we'd see each other at our high school reunions or occasionally if we happened to be pumping gas at the same time. But not anymore. Heck, we might not have even been really close before, or maybe we've never met. But now, NOW, we know each others' kids names, what they ate for breakfast, and how cute their bedrooms are. And when there is no update, we wonder. (Are they sick? Oh little Suzie must be sick! She did have that crying picture of her last time. Gee. I hope she's okay! Poor little Suzie!) And that's the funny thing about the internet. It has brought us all together in this weird and crazy way.

But obviously, as I'm a blogger, I enjoy blogging. I like to check up on other peoples' blogs. In moderation though, in moderation (you know, motherhood and all that kind of stuff). But what I cannot understand is Twitter. Now don't you get all offended on me--you Twitter lover--but really? I don't have a Twitter account, but Jed does. And, as he is home more these days, I get to see all the--dare I say it--in all its goofiness--TWEETS from his followers and him. Talk about nerdy! You just update what you're doing all day long! And if you're savvy, you add links to check out and make it super clever. What, you want to see? Well, super, because here on my blog, I'm going to give you the twitter experience. ENJOY!!!!!!!

Twitter
What are you doing?
(First you need a picture. You want it to look cute, but like you didn't know someone caught it on film. Oh, did you just take that?! Oh you!)

Hey! Just swept the floor. There were crumbs everywhere!!

Oh Julian, another messy diaper??

Me again!! We had PBJs for lunch. As usual!! Crazy Julian got applesauce in his hair. Is it really tub time again?

Sweeping floor again, whatever did I go to school for?

Where are your unders Pars? Oh that crazy kid!!

Homework with Haze. When did addition get so hard? J/K!!

My kitchen rag stinks! Must be time to do laundry!

Better put some chicken in the crockpot for dinner. YUM YUM!!

Does anyone else out there LOVE Good Things Utah?

A shower, finally? It must be my lucky day! J/K!

Julian's nap! Now back to my soaps!

I swear it doesn't get any nerdier that that. Don't we already live the Truman Show through our blogs? Need we all TWEET about what happens in between posts (and breakfast and lunch?)
But, if you're dying to know, be my follower! I'll keep tweeting, and you keep reading. Check you in three minutes!

I must be way behind in the times because I've never even heard of it!! Great post as always. You crack me up.

Ah, Jayne. You should know by now that we'd keep reading, even if it were only snippets. However, it is MUCH better to get a full-course meal instead of little tastes of fluff all day long.

You go, girl!

I THINK PEOPLE NEED TO GET THEIR LIVES PRIORITIZED. REALLY. IT IS ONE OF THE MOST STUPIDEST THINGS I'VE EVER HEARD OF. WHO HAS THE TIME. OR MORE IMPORTANTLY, WHO CARES.

hahahaha, good things utah...

but before this gets out of hand: a tweet is a mini blog post. if anyone is a nerd it's the one who spends 30 minutes to an hour composing an essay about what they're thinking and doing. i can do it with 140 characters or less.

That was like a tweet-athon. Not much of a twitter-er either. :) Still enjoy reading your blog though.

Thanks for clearing that up Jayne. I was wondering what twitter was as I have been hearing a lot about it lately due to the unfortunate demise of Lindsey Lohan's (lesbian) relationship. Apparently twitter has played an important role - enough so to be on all the entertainment news show commercials. I didn't know Lindsey was a lesbian but at least I now know what twitter is. Your blog is educational AND entertaining, it's great!

Oh! And what are you doing sweeping the floor multiple times a day? You only sweep it right before your husband comes home from work so it looks like you have been working all day. Of course with your husband home all day I guess you have to keep up on the housework for real. Poor Jayne.

Yes, thanks for clearing up Twitter for me. I keep hearing about it. I waste far too much time reading blogs and email already (of course, yours is not a waste of time! but you know what I mean). At least there is google reader to keep up on all the blogs... what do twitterers have? And you could maybe handle one twitter feed every few minutes, but with all your friends doing it?

Emze's onto something with the sweeping thing...though sometimes I just leave it for my husband to do. I hate sweeping. Poor Jayne, indeed!

Well it was a worthwhile view on Jed's Twitter page... I found out who Mr. November is... It's Jed!!! I'd always thought it was Matt Berninger of The National... Boy was I wrong...

jed said...

chuck,

it's funny-- a lot of people have that same misconception about berninger. what a poseur.

I totally know what you are talking about. Greg and I have had this conversation many a time. I won't ever get a twitter account! It seems to be the popular thing at Greg's work. Like always, love your posts.

I love your blog and found it from Ali's. Great post. I don't understand the Twitter craze. Truth be told, I've never even used my telephone for anything except phonecalls. I have no interest in even texting.

I like Facebook for finding people, but the status updates are very nerdy. Blogging is the best.
